Cheeseburger Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cans (10.75 oz each) tomato soup
  • 3 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1 pound shell pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: diced onions, chopped tomatoes, sliced pickles

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Pasta: Cook the shell pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water.
  3. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain any excess grease.
  4. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, cooked pasta, tomato soup, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix well to combine. If the mixture seems too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top.
  6. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the casserole is heated through.
  7. Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with diced onions, chopped tomatoes, or sliced pickles for extra flavor and freshness.
  8. Enjoy: Serve your delicious cheeseburger casserole hot and enjoy the comforting flavors of a classic cheeseburger in every bite!
