Cowboy Baked Beans


  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 3 cans (15 ounces each) pork and beans
  • 1 pound ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and chopped (optional)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Vinegar
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Brown sugar


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained kidney beans, pork and beans, cooked ground beef, chopped bacon (if using), and chopped onion.
  3. Add ketchup, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and brown sugar to taste. Start with approximately 1/4 cup each of ketchup and brown sugar, 1-2 tablespoons each of mustard and vinegar, and 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust the amounts according to your preference, keeping in mind that you can always add more seasoning later.
  4. Mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  5. Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish or casserole dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beans are bubbling and the flavors have melded together.
  7. Serve the cowboy baked beans hot as a delicious side dish for your grilled meats, or as a flavorful addition to your 4th of July barbecue!
